Philip sent out an email detailing the schedule for Sunday 9/23. Please note you need to bring your relaxed concert attire, and plan to dress business casual for the day. Concert attire is:
Women:
Guidelines: rules apply for every concert, no ‘formal’ or ‘informal’ distinction.
ALL BLACK, head to toe attire. Dress/skirt/palazzo pants with full-length hemlines (full-length range is floor to just above ankle). Sleeves are ¾ to full-length. Black hosiery. Shoes with medium to flat heel.
Fun jewelry/sewn-in bling is fine – sparkly but not distracting. Makeup should enhance features, but appear natural and not distract the audience. Cleavage under control.
Men: (note, for 9/23 you need your ‘Less formal’ garb)
Formal: Black tuxedo with white shirt and black cummerbund or vest and black bow tie. Shirt can be plain or pleated – no ruffles – with dark or black studs and cuff links. Black, polished shoes. Patent leather is not necessary. Coats may be worn open or closed.
Less Formal (ALL BLACK, head to toe):Dress jacket, Long-Sleeved Shirts, button down or pull-over, with or without collar, with or without all-black tie. Pants and jacket must be wool or poly-blend dress slacks – no cotton. Dress shoes. Any T-shirt underneath must also be black if there’s a chance that it will be seen.
Parking:
Please park or walk into the Ace Parking Garage to enter the church. The exterior doors of the building will be locked in the evenings on the weekdays, so no matter how you arrive please enter through the garage. Do not park in the IBM garage (which is the first garage entrance you encounter driving up University St.).
The Ace garage entrance and exit are on University St. between 5th and 6th Avenues and should be clearly marked “Ace”. One you arrive please find your way to the elevators (or take the stairs) to the 1st floor for the Sanctuary.
The garage gates close promptly at 7 pm on weeknights. If you arrive after the garage door closes you’ll need to find alternate parking, which can be a pain downtown.
Once you are in the garage you can always exit, just by driving up to the exit gate (at which point a sensor knows you’re there and opens the door).
I look forward to seeing you all soon! Please let me know if there are any questions!
